Reading Nursery Testimonials

We've been at Fennies Wimbledon, Elm Grove since our son turned 1, now almost 3, with our daughter also attending. Both children having the same key person has been a blessing for continuity. The staff in both rooms are engaged, proactive, and caring, offering incredible activities year-round. Ryan and Nicky, the management, are supportive and warm, making us feel fortunate to have such a nurturing environment.

Fennies Wimbledon, Elm Grove Parent

Our eldest just completed 4 fulfilling years at Fennies nursery, preparing him well for school. Our youngest enjoys his second year there, benefitting from a friendly, positive environment. From infancy, they’ve been nurtured by attentive staff, fostering their development through engaging activities. Despite staffing challenges, committed teachers personalise care, making it enjoyable for our boys.

Fennies Beckenham, Kings Hall Road, Parent

Fennies has been an amazing place for her to grow and I could not be happier with our decision to place her here. The staff have been incredible at helping and accommodating anything we have needed. Furthermore, my daughter loves going to nursery and we have all seen such a massive difference in her confidence since going to Fennies.

Our educators at Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane undergo a comprehensive two-day induction that includes essential training such as paediatric first aid certification. Beyond this, we invest in their ongoing development through role-specific training, one-to-one coaching, and career growth programs. For children under two, the ratio is 1:3; for two-year-olds, it’s 1:5; and for children aged three and over, the ratio is 1:8. These ratios help ensure that each child receives the attentive, high-quality care and education they deserve.

How does Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane address children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)?

Our experienced team works closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to create personalised support plans, ensuring that all children have access to the full curriculum and can fully participate in nursery activities.

How does the settling-in period work at Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane?

The settling-in period at Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane begins with you liaising with our Admissions team to provide all necessary details. Our Nursery Manager will then help organise your child’s first settling session, which is based on your proposed start date. On the first day, the parent and child will attend for a short visit, with the parent remaining onsite while the child gets familiar with the environment and the people around them. This transition period helps your child build initial bonds and feel more comfortable in their new setting. The settling-in period is free of charge and generally lasts one week, but it can be extended to two weeks if needed to ensure a smooth transition for your child.

Why should I choose a nursery like Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane over a childminder?

Choosing a nursery like Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane instead of a childminder offers numerous benefits. In a nursery, your child will have more opportunities for social interaction, exposing them to a diverse range of children from different backgrounds and cultures. Children learn so much from their peers, and interacting with a larger group of children expands their learning and development opportunities. Small groups with just one or two childminders can’t prepare children for the transition to a larger classroom environment with up to 26 children. At Fennies, we prepare them for success by following a well-structured routine that provides both stability and freedom. Children are encouraged to explore a variety of experiences and activities, fostering their individuality in a nurturing environment. Unlike childminders who operate from their homes, Fennies offers spacious facilities and a wide variety of resources that engage children in learning throughout the day, especially as they spend full days, five days a week with us.

What age does Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane accept children from?

At Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane, we welcome children from 3 months to 5 years of age. Our nursery is designed to provide a nurturing and engaging environment for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, ensuring that each child’s developmental needs are met at every stage of their early years.

Do the children at Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane go on trips and outings?

At Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane, the number of trips we offer depends on various factors, such as weather and the children’s learning themes. We aim to enhance their learning with experiences like visits to local fire stations, farms, libraries, and shops. These outings provide valuable hands-on opportunities to learn outside the nursery environment.

How do I enquire about a place at Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane?

To enquire about a place at Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane, our wonderful Admissions team is happy to assist you. They will help you find the perfect nursery for your child and answer any questions you may have. You can reach us by phone at 020 8770 3222, email at enquiries@fennies.com, or simply click the ‘Contact Us’ button on our website.

Why do all the rooms have white walls at Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane?

We worked alongside Dr Sam Wass on the designs we use for the walls at our nurseries. At Fennies Reading, Rose Kiln Lane we believe that children require calm and beautiful places where they can focus on enjoying learning and playing, hence all our nurseries are created with bright and spacious environments. White walls are used within these environments to provide a neutral background that enhances focus and reduces any visual distractions the children could experience. If the walls were to contain designs, it could lead to overstimulating the children which could in turn, hinder their ability to focus on learning.
