Explore The Nursery

Fennies Twickenham is a purpose-built nursery designed to offer an inspiring, supportive environment that nurtures development through every stage of a child’s early years.

Inside, bright and spacious rooms are tailored for exploration and creativity, with calming sensory zones and a fully equipped cooking studio that invites children to explore food through hands-on experiences

Outdoors, children benefit from a large garden complete with a race track, sandpit and water feature, encouraging movement and curiosity.

Explorers Rooms

The Explorers Room at our Twickenham nursery is designed for our youngest learners aged 3 to 24 months. This warm and calming space supports sensory exploration, early movement and emotional security, giving babies the confidence to explore at their own pace.

Familiar routines and consistent care help create a stable, comforting environment, while new experiences keep little ones engaged. We also work closely with families to support sleep, feeding, and developmental milestones. With a 1:3 team ratio, every child receives focused, responsive care.

Creators Room

In the Creators Room, children aged 2 to 3 years are encouraged to build independence, develop social confidence and expand their language through imaginative play and exploration.

Open-ended activities such as sensory play, role play and early mark-making are part of everyday learning. The 1:5 team ratio supports each child closely, while on-site bathroom facilities help gently introduce toilet training in a positive, reassuring way.

Inventors Rooms

The Inventors Room at Twickenham supports children aged 3 to 5 years old as they prepare for their next big step. This space encourages meaningful learning through a balance of guided experiences and independent exploration across subjects like early literacy, numeracy and STEAM.

With a 1:8 ratio, children are supported as they build independence and resilience. Carefully chosen resources reflect real-world experiences, and children enjoy direct access to the garden where outdoor learning is an important part of the day.

Garden

The garden at Fennies Twickenham is a vibrant outdoor space designed to extend learning and inspire active, imaginative play. With a race track and a water feature, children are free to explore, play collaboratively and connect with the natural world. Outdoor time supports physical development and teamwork while encouraging curiosity and a sense of adventure in a safe, engaging environment.

Cooking Studio

One of the standout features at Fennies Twickenham is our dedicated cooking studio. This purposefully designed space gives children the chance to engage with food through hands-on, practical experiences each day. Whether they’re measuring, mixing, or following simple recipes, children build early mathematical skills, develop fine motor coordination and grow more confident exploring new tastes and textures. Cooking together also encourages teamwork and communication, making it a valuable part of their learning journey.

The Management Team

Rachelle (Nursery Manager)

Rachelle brings international experience and a deep-rooted passion for Early Years education to her role at Fennies Twickenham. After spending three years living and working in Dubai, she’s developed a broad and inclusive approach to early childhood development. One of her proudest achievements was launching a brand-new nursery in Abu Dhabi, where she built a dedicated team and watched a new community of children settle and flourish. At Fennies Twickenham, Rachelle focuses on building strong partnerships with families and creating a setting where curiosity and individuality are celebrated. Her ambition is to create a nursery that truly listens to children and gives them the very best foundation to grow and thrive.

Katie (Deputy Manager)

Katie brings energy and a strong sense of teamwork to her role at Fennies Twickenham. Before joining the Early Years sector, she played Water Polo for the Cheltenham Ladies Team, an experience that taught her the value of collaboration and perseverance, qualities she brings into the nursery every day. She stays closely connected to the wider community by organising events like "Genes for Jeans" to raise awareness for genetic disorders and other important causes. What continues to inspire her most in her career is the joy of daily interactions, hearing children laugh and seeing genuine connections form between the team and each child. Katie is passionate about focusing on children being ‘Ready for Life,’ helping them develop the skills and confidence they need beyond just the classroom.

The Education Team

Paula (Regional SENCO And Inclusion Manager)

Paula plays an integral role in offering support to children with additional needs or those learning English as an Additional Language (EAL). She plays a key role in enhancing our team’s understanding of both SENCO and EAL empowering us to provide the best possible care.

Ruth (Education Advisor)

Ruth is pivotal in motivating our teams to create engaging and stimulating environments for our children. She is a strong advocate for our initiatives like our ‘Book of the Month’ and our recently introduced Music and Movement’ campaign. Music-based activities are essential to our curriculum due to their profound impact on brain and emotional development, along with its benefits on children’s holistic well-being during their Early Years.

Majka (Art Specialist)

Majka frequently visits all of our nurseries, including our Epsom nursery, to guide the children in learning through art. Each month, she introduces an Artist of the Month, encouraging children to explore various art activities inspired by that artist’s works.
